Circa 1890s, 14k. This wonderful natural coral necklace is a decadent 76 inches long. Bold worn as a single strand or town and country chic in two, three, or four layers. The look can be smart, Bohemian, vintage fun, shabby chic, or just plain chic! The coral is a lovely bright color. The beads vary slightly in diameter and have charming slightly rough shapes and surface textures as are found in authentic 19th-century strands. Excellent condition.

Additional notes: Today, when coral reefs are protected from harvest for their invaluable ecological role, the trade of old coral represents the best of all worlds. The beauty of this natural stone is recognized, and pieces which had been harvested in the past are lovingly handed down (recycled!).
